Choquequirao is located in the Vilcabamba mountain range, is the beginning of the jungle, located in the Apurimac River, it is an alternative route to the Inca Trail increasingly popular.
Choquequirao is a Quechua word that means "Golden Cradle" The trek takes 4 days especially in high season.
Above all, this trip is a challenge and an exciting experience for those who enjoy adventure. |

Day 1 : Cusco - Cachora - Chikiska
We pick you up from hotel at 5:00 a.m. to begin the journey to the town of Cachora.
In the way we stop one minute to appreciate Tarawasi archaeological remains, and then continue to the bridge of Cunyac between the departments of Cusco and Apurimac, then pass by the district Curawasi (considered as the land of anise) and finally we will reach Cachora at 09.00 am where we will prepare the backpacks for the trek and the team of horses or mules.
We have about 7 hours of hiking for the day and the way we stop for lunch at a place called Capulioc.
During today's walk we will monitor the Apurimac canyon with its impressive depth, beautiful semi-tropical valley, we will see the views of the mountain.
We will have our first day camp at a place called Chikiska (1930 masl)

Day 2 : Chiquiska - Choquequirao
Another early morning to get up 5:00 a.m.!
After breakfast our journey takes us to the treasure of Choquequirao (3577m).
The second day of the hike is considered the most difficult, due to rise early to the mountains of Cusco, heading towards Marampata, the tour will show us orchids and violets, fauna, all this beauty justifies our great effort today.
Arrive at Choquequirao in the afternoon, we will have time to explore some parts of the Inca complex as Terrazas, sacred springs, and the towers, barns, qolqas, facilities, places of worship. If we are lucky we may even see in situ "the flight of the condors "

Day 3 : Choquequirao - Cocamazana
After breakfast, we will visit again the archaeological complex of Choquequirao, the purpose will be to explore the site or Agricultural terraces where you can see sculptures of Flames.
Then return along the same route to Rosalina beach, located at the edge of the Apurimac River where we will catch a delicious lunch. Finally, after a short walk we will reach Cocamazana, where we will set up base camp. Dinner and overnight.
Today we have a total of 7 hours walking.
* Depending on the speed of walking and physical fitness levels of the group, take the option of camping at alternative locations.

Day 4 : Cocamazana - Cusco
After early breakfast, we leave the base camp and continue our trek to the village of Cachora, where we have our last lunch of the trip.
Then catch our bus back to Cusco.
